Our E-bike Service Policies
We are a full-service bike shop specializing in electric bikes, while also qualified to service all types of bicycles including traditional bikes, trikes, road bikes, and mountain bikes.
In New York State, electric bicycles are regulated under NY Vehicle & Traffic Law §102-c, which classifies e-bikes into three categories based on speed and assist type. Anything outside of these definitions may not be legally recognized as an e-bike and could present risks to our business, our staff, and our customers.
We are happy to assist our customers whenever possible, but there are important exceptions to what we service.
We DO NOT service or repair:
- Regular bicycles that have been converted to e-bikes
- Bikes with motors exceeding 750 watts of power
- Bikes operating on systems above 52V
- Bikes deemed unsafe to ride,
- Bikes we determine present a safety risk to the shop, our staff, or the rider
- Electric scooters
- Motorbikes or off-road e-motorcycles (e.g., Onyx, Sur-Ron, Talaria, etc.)
Our priority is keeping riders safe and ensuring all work we do complies with New York State e-bike laws.

For any electrical work, we charge a $80 e-bike diagnostic fee on any e-bike not purchased from us. Any e-bike purchased from us will have that fee waived.
